The prospectus for Axis Gallery's 7th National Juried Competition is now avalabile. The juror is Aspara DiQuinzio, the assistant curator of painting and sculpture at SF MoMA. Entries are due May 28. All original 2-D and 3-D media. To download the prospectus, click <here>.
Call for Applications: 2013 Artists in Residency
Every winter from January through March, Caldera welcomes creative individuals from all over the world to their Caldera Arts Center in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains near Sisters, Oregon. Artists are provided the gift of time and space for one-month long residencies. Successful applicants stay in Caldera’s A-frame cabins, designed to inspire and nurture.

The Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento is presenting Crossroads, a free Saturday afternoon reading series featuring distinctive poetic voices, hosted by Trina Drotar and Sandy Thomas. The series is dedicated to enriching the interplay between literary and visual artists. Additional readings will be on July 21, October 20, November 17 and December 15.
Come and see CAST Committee Chair, Lisa Fernald Barker's art work at the SLATE contemporary gallery at this year's San Francisco Fine Art Fair, May 17-20 at Fort Mason. Lisa's Oakland art representation, SLATE contemporary gallery is a member of Oakland Art Murmur, a group that works to increase public awareness of the arts. Slate will feature Lisa's abstract expressionist paintings, Destinations in Color.
CCAS Members- remember that you and a guest have the opportunity to visit the San Francisco Fine Art Fair absolutely FREE on Saturday, May 19 (a $25 per-person value). We will be meeting at Fort Mason at 11am and have the option of staying till closing (7 pm). We will be breaking for lunch and will provide a list of local eateries.
