2012 Guide

The 2012 Guide

The Capital Artists’ Studio Tour Guide is a beautiful and energizing publication featuring the people, art and places at the core of Sacramento’s thriving fine arts scene. This publication is an annual companion to the seventh annual Capital Artists’ Studio Tour (CAST). Produced by the non-profit Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento, it serves as the ultimate resource on Sacramento’s artists and galleries.

The 2012 Guide included over 34 pages of listings of artists and galleries, a map locating and linking to all participants and supporters of the tour, plus editorials and features on annual art events, with advertising sprinkled throughout. As a long-term resource, it will also appear online as a downloadable PDF linked to your website.

We goofed! Although we proofed, proofed and re-proofed, a few mistakes still made it into the CAST Guide and we feel horrible about it. For this we sincerely apologize.

It’s important to us to showcase all of the artists and their work, and sponsors properly and to get all of the dates right. The image here show the corrected information.

Thanks again for your support of the Capital Artists’ Studio Tour, and understanding of our mistakes!

Please take a moment to update your GUIDE with this corrected information.

Our Mission

We at the Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento (CCAS) have a mission to support the enrichment, advancement and appreciation of new and experimental art being created by regional, national and international artists. Our board, staff and members are dedicated to making contemporary art accessible to everyone as well as fostering a dialogue with contemporary arts through art enthusiasts and artists of all disciplines, locations and career levels.

The arts help to define our community and our way of life. We publish this guide to help the general public and visitors to our region as well as art appreciators, art buyers, and artists, learn more about the Sacramento area’s wealth of art and to encourage everyone to incorporate art into their life. CAST presents a unique opportunity to support and meet contemporary artists, experience the places where they create and to learn about their processes—a true celebration of contemporary arts!
